Family stay
Lovely hotel and nice big rooms which was brilliant with kids . Breakfast was lovely as was the dinner in the bar. Only leaving off one star as the hotel definitely needs a few paint touch ups and the pool is very cold . Also it would be great if more kids activities at hotel but it's the perfect hotel for a base for doing fota and leahys farm with the kids . I would not hesitate in coming back . Enjoyed our stay

Horrific experience
I am extremely disappointed by my recent stay at the Talbot Collection Hotel in Midleton, Co. Cork. What should have been an enjoyable break turned into a very upsetting and stressful experience.
From the beginning of our stay, there were problems with our room. The in-room safe was not working, and the window would not lock properly, which was a serious security concern. We reported both issues to reception, and although a maintenance staff member came to the room, the window was still not repaired correctly . The window wouldn’t open then at all leaving the room uncomfortably warm throughout our stay.
The most upsetting part of our stay happened on Wednesday evening at around 6:30 p.m., when I discovered that my Dyrberg/Kern gold jewellery was missing from Room 126. The missing items included two gold chains, two pairs of earrings, and a chunky gold bracelet with an estimated value of around £600. I was absolutely devastated.
I immediately reported the matter to hotel staff, expecting support, reassurance, and genuine concern. Instead, I felt the response was lacking in empathy and customer care at a time when I was extremely distressed. The Gardaí were called, and an investigation is currently ongoing.
For a hotel that is far from inexpensive, I expected much higher standards of security, maintenance, and customer service. Instead, I left feeling upset, let down, and with more questions than answers.
This has been one of the most distressing experiences I have ever had while staying in a hotel in Ireland. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this hotel, and I certainly will not be returning.

Air con
Everything was fantastic from start to finish, the value, the atmosphere, the staff went about and beyond for the kids. The only thing was the room as modern and spacious also very clean, as it was was boiling. We were given a fan but made no difference. I know ireland doesnt get hot weather too often but air conditioning or a ceiling fan is definitely needed in family rooms.

Perfect for family
Lovely clean rooms, comfortable beds and nice food. The kids had great fun searching for the small fairy house doors hidden around the hotel

All guests who do not arrive on their scheduled date of arrival are considered No-Shows. Once a room is released due to a no-show, there is no obligation to hold it for subsequent nights. If a guest arrives the following day, the booking may be reinstated at management discretion.
