A rugged place in the north side of Oahu. Fine sugar like sand on the beach. Camping and fishing here are dominant for the locals. The near by attractions here are the famous Polynesian cultural center, Turtle Bay resorts, Mormon temple and the university of BYU.
Not much around but some very nice reef off-shore with caves, and good spearfishing. Otherwise there is the university and the cultural center here.
Just stayed a week in Laie and the sunrises from the point were breathtaking! LOVED the Polynesian Cultural Center! Short drive to some beautiful beaches... Kailua and Waimea Beach park. Papa Ole's was a hit for breakfast and Kahuku grill for burgers was delish! Macadamia nut farm not too far away was visited 3 times! Loved it there! Wish our week long stay could have been forever!
What can I say its my hometown and I'm biased. Laie is the best place to grow up. Surfing at the beach and hiking in the mountains are one of the many things I did growing up in Laie.
