The best thing about this hotel is the excellent location in Bergen with everything at your doorstep. We walked no more than five minutes away to catch a bus or boat for all of our excursions. The rooms are tiny with very little storage but you get used to it. The breakfast offerings are wonderful which made for a great start to the day.

The location was fantastic, and the breakfast was really good—with options available for gluten-free and vegan needs. The beds were comfortable. However, the lobby/bar area was far too small; there was nowhere to sit or relax because it was constantly crowded with arriving guests. We were assigned a really poor room (No. 435) and were so disappointed to find ourselves looking out onto an ugly back courtyard. There was nowhere to store our clothes or bags, and the room was so dull and dreary that it spoiled the whole atmosphere of our stay in Bergen. We had booked a standard room, and I wish they should make it clear that standard rooms have such an ugly view—and remove the photos from the website that show lovely views of the harbor.

Very central, very friendily and accomodating reception staff, good facilities.I"d stay there again.

The room was updated and fine, but on the smaller side.
Breakfast was good.
Lobby was way too small and crowded, front desk also and understaffed. The check-in line was almost out on the street. And luggage storage on the unsafe safe, but worked thankfully.

Excellent Location

Everything at the hotel was top notch. We got upgraded to a better room at my request. The location of the hotel was excellent and could not have been better. As a Scandic Friend we were also offered complimentary coffee. Ms. Halina at the reception was very helpful. Now the downside - we got check in at 4:00pm (as per hotel policy) though there were rooms available. The hotel insisted on charging extra for it. I feel that if rooms are available you can give them a little early. The other downside is that the intercom does not work and you have to go to the reception to communicate.
