A Hidden Jewell in Budapest for your stay - great rooms, friendly staff, convenient location and low cost, and
We've been staying at the Beatrix since 1991 almost annually and this year decided to bring our kids and grandkids from the US to meet up with our Hungarian family. The hotel did a phenomenal job of providing just the right rooms and catering our reunion event. Extremely fair costs for rooms (breakfast provided) and the event. The owner and staff are always attentive, courteous, and friendly. English, German, (and Hungarian) fluency.

Unfortunately disappointing
We only arrived after the reception was already closed. We had informed the hotel of this in advance and received very good and clear instructions on how we could get into the hotel. That worked without any problems. The parking lot is quite small, but in the end I was still able to find an open spot.
Our room no. 9 was located on the 2nd floor directly under the roof. When we arrived around 10 p.m., the window was already open. Nevertheless, the enormous heat in the room was immediately noticeable. After a long day, we actually just wanted to shower, turn on the air conditioning, and go to sleep.
With an outside temperature of about 28 °C, we measured an incredible 33 °C in the room. An air conditioning unit was indeed present, but the corresponding remote control was nowhere to be found. Thus, we could not use the air conditioning at all.
As I later read in other reviews as well, the problem with the remote control seems to be already known. Apparently, one sometimes has to request or order it separately from the staff, which I honestly find quite absurd. If a room is offered with air conditioning, it should naturally be usable without additional hassle.
Since we could not turn on the air conditioning, we had no choice but to leave the window open all night. However, this created the next problem: Buses drive by regularly right nearby. Until about midnight, bus traffic could be heard again and again, which made falling asleep even more difficult.
Around 3 a.m., I was already so tired and frustrated that I seriously considered leaving the hotel and driving home. Since I was traveling with my family, however, I did not want to subject my wife and my family to a departure in the middle of the night.
Hardly had we managed to get some sleep when the bus traffic began again around 6 a.m. The passing buses worked better than any alarm clock. Between the unbearable heat in the attic and the noise with the window open, a quiet and restful night was hardly to be expected.
Around 8:30 a.m., we went to breakfast. Unfortunately, the next disappointment followed there. In my opinion, the breakfast consisted predominantly of very simple and rather cheap-looking food. The selection and quality leave significant room for improvement. After this already extremely unpleasant night, this unfortunately only reinforced our negative impression.
When we addressed the problem with the air conditioning with the staff, we were told that the remote control could not be found and had presumably been misplaced by other guests. At the same time, the statement that one had to specifically request the remote control was denied to us. We were told it should actually be in the room.
For me, this is an absolute no-go. It cannot be the guest's responsibility to worry about where the remote control for an existing air conditioning unit is located. Especially with a room directly under the roof and summer temperatures, the hotel must ensure that the air conditioning can actually be used.
We paid for an overnight stay to rest after a long day. Instead, we had to spend the night in the room at a measured 33 °C. The choice was practically between closing the window and enduring the enormous heat or opening it and hearing the regular bus traffic instead.
Under these circumstances, there was no question of getting any rest. We truly suffered through that night.
Unfortunately, this stay was a huge disappointment for us and definitely not what we expect from an overnight stay in a hotel.

Perfect!
Very kind staff. Good international breakfast, nice atmosphere...and we also had a problem with the lights during the night and they arrived immediately to fix them. Really satisfied! Strongly suggested!

Tidy and friendly
The hotel is located in a beautiful, quiet woodland area of Budapest. The staff was very friendly and helpful, our room was tidy, clean and comfortable - especially the bathroom which is always a crucial point in a hotel room. It may seem a bit far from the city center but it the nearest bus stop is closer than it looks. It's a huge plus that free wi-fi and breakfast are included in the price (just as free parking). The only downside is that you cannot pay with credit card, so prepare with enough cash.

Nice little hotel in pleasant neighbourhood
Good value for money. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast room is very pleasant and buffet was good.Staff was helpful and friendly.
The hotel is in a pleasant area, Pasaréti Ter is in walking distance.
