An incredible charm!

It is a unique experience to spend a night in this lovely mansion, in the middle of its green park. The interior decoration is a little dated and gives the impression of landing in a novel by Agatha Christie but it remains comfortable and very exotic. Attentive Service especially during dinner. The dining room is not very beautiful but the terrace is top.

Breakfast Disaster

Very poor breakfast, scheduled from 9–11, but by 9 o’clock there was already nothing left. No empty plates, no cups for coffee. The hot food (one tureen) was also finished and not replenished. There was even a hair in the salad.

Avoid this charmer they have no policy to handle disruptive guests

We booked a three night stay and we enjoyed the first two nights. Our third night was disrupted by a foursome partying in the next room. At 2320 I dressed and went to security to complain. Security talked with them about the noise and they were quiet for a bit. At 0030 I again dressed, went to security, requested to be moved, but was denied. Again security asked them to be quiet. However after a brief period of time the party resumed. At 0115 there was a ruckus in the hall and as they walked past our room the banged loudly several times on our door. Then for the next 30 minutes they would bang on our wall every 5 minutes. I felt very threatened by the situation as it had become apparent that security had no intention of removing them from the Manor. The next morning we were afraid to stay for breakfast as we were concerned about a confrontation. We spoke with management and it was apparent that the security man did not mention anything about the party that had disturbed the guests. They have no policy in place for this type of incident while other hotels often have a “ one warning policy” removing the guests as well as a fine if there is a second incident. It is a lovely setting, but I won’t recommend a stay as they seem to have a haphazard way of running their show.

Beautiful Grounds!

We loved our stay here! The grounds are incredible and dinner outside on the terrace was really special. This would be a great venue for a special occasion (e.g., a wedding). If you have a car, it's worth a little detour to stay here.

Great Hotel.

This is a great Manor House Hotel set in beautiful grounds and woodlands in the small attractive village of Malpils in Latvia. It is a Manor House with an old world charm, offering large well appointed bedrooms and nice warm bathrooms. The Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The food was exceptional at evening dinner — as was the breakfast—- fine dining — but very tasty and delicious. The cocktails were a delight also!! I certainly will endeavour to return to this Hotel in the near future— whilst its location is a little isolated — it is well worth making a visit just for sheer relaxation and getting away from it all. I highly recommend this Hotel.
