Good experience.
We have stayed 3 nights in this pleasant rural hotel. They treated us phenomenally upon arrival, they recommended restaurants for dinner in the area. Good recommendations, by the way. The nearby beaches are amazing. Laurie's story is very cool. Their dog is beautiful and adorable. The room is okay.... . See you soon.

A Charming and Very Welcoming Stay
We stayed at La Joyuca del Pas yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Laurie gave us a very warm welcome and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived.
The property is full of charm, cosy, comfortable, and set in a lovely peaceful location just outside Santander. We were also delighted by how dog-friendly it is, which made travelling with our dog completely stress-free.
Breakfast was excellent, with fresh eggs, fruit, and a great selection of quality food. It was the perfect start to the day.
If you’re looking for a welcoming, characterful place to stay with genuine hospitality, I would highly recommend La Joyuca del Pas. We would happily return.

A gem!
My husband and I were invited by friends to stay at Laurie's beautiful hotel in June. Our friends hosted us along with 18 other friends! (There are 12 rooms at the hotel.)
We had the hotel to ourselves for two weeks! It was fabulous! Laurie is the best hostess and made sure we started each day with a great breakfast and very good coffee.
Laurie has owned the hotel for about two years now and has decorated it beautifully. It's very clean and the rooms are charming.
La Joyuca is located in a gorgeous part of Spain. It's so green! And it's a perfect base for sightseeing. It's only 20 minutes from Santander, and, if you don't want to drive, a train to take you there is only a three-minute walk from the hotel.
Besides Santander, we enjoyed a walk along the beautiful Cantabrian coastline, visited prehistoric caves, a Gaudi house, and took an easy hike in the stunning Picos de Europa — all Unesco sites!
The restaurants in the area serve the freshest of food. In fact, there is a restaurant a two minute walk from the hotel that is fabulous, yet casual, and is popular with the locals all day long.
So if you have a group that would like to rent La Joyuca, contact Laurie. Of course, it's still a great spot for anyone — a single pilgrim stopping in for a good night's rest or a couple or family on a beach holiday.
We will be visiting again and looking forward to it!
PS The hotel is very dog friendly. Laurie has a handsome boy named Beau who loves pets and guests!

They do not take reservations for families with minors but they do with pets. Regrettable

A gem of a find
A drop in temperature and persistent rain meant camping completely lost its appeal, and with a ferry to catch the hunt for a non city based hotel began.
This was an absolute find - tucked about a mile from the main road, we were instantly made to feel completely at home. We opted for the delux double at the front of the hotel assuring a peaceful nights sleep. The decor is gorgeous , rustic and original- and with a beautiful room, whirlpool bath and a balcony we felt very spoilt.
We enjoyed a very filling grill at the restaurant just a short stroll from the hotel. Parking was ample and breakfast a lovely buffet with eggs cooked to order if we wanted.
An extremely short drive from the ferry terminal at Santander meant we could follow Laurie the proprietor’s local recommendations for scenic coastal locations on our route- also highly recommended.
Laurie, Eva and of course the charming Bo made for a most enjoyable stay. Would definitely use again and highly recommend.
