loved el retablo

our group of 9 stayed here in late December 2019 and loved it!! Kevin at the front desk was amazing--so courteous and welcoming! And the hotel is absolutely beautiful. Beds are super comfortable and breakfasts were delicious. Fantastic!

An amazing hotel- can’t recommend highly enough!

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful hotel. The rooms and hotel itself are beautifully designed, with lots of effort to make it cosy and friendly, including happy hour with chilled music in the early evening every day, and such comfy and lovely beds. The view from our room was also amazing. It’s so well situated- minutes from the main square but quiet and safe.
My husband and I also had the misfortune to fall ill whilst staying at the hotel (unrelated)- and the staff could not have been kinder, checking in on us, extending our stay and going to extra mile to help us feel cared for whilst we were there. I can honestly say this is probably my favourite hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Thank you, El Retablo!

Great location, great service, great room.

We just spent 3 nights in a small but comfortable room with a balcony overlooking the main square, which is a few blocks away. You can spend days exploring museums and good food within walking distance. The hotel is beautifully decorated in a colorful Peruvian style and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Wonderful hotel in perfect location off the beaten path just a bit

If you want a great view of Cusco outside of trendy San Blas (and away from all the Americans), El Retablo is your place! The staff was so, so friendly. They serve an excellent breakfast and I loved walking home at night up the little hill into a real Cusco neighborhood. The street lets off right in front of the Belmond Monestario hotel so it is super central, but also quiet and a bit less touristy than the hipster areas. The decor was super fun - the wall of retablos and all the floral paintings on the ceiling. Perfect for good photos!

Great stay

We stayed 3 nights in total and enjoyed every day. Location is great, it’s quiet but only a 5 minute walk to the center.
Very nice and clean rooms, with comfortable beds and high-standard bathrooms.
We enjoyed the rich breakfast and the welcoming atmosphere.
Kevin at the reception was very friendly, helpful and supported us getting used to the altitude. Made the difference :-)
