Flam Hotel Gem
Lovely little traditional Nordic hotel in Flam with stunning views of the Fjords! Rooms are on the small side for more than two people but beautiful none the less.

350 € per night for a hotel under construction from 7am to 11pm, without heating and no gestures
We had booked 4 nights in this hotel and the experience was extremely disappointing.
We had chosen this property for its location facing the fjords, thinking of spending a few quiet days in nature and quiet, with my wife and my 3-year-old daughter. Unfortunately, the reality was quite different.
From the moment we arrived, we discovered that there were important works inside and outside the hotel, with almost continuous noise from 7am to 11pm... absolutely incompatible with a stay supposed to be relaxing in such a setting.
Travelling as a family, the situation quickly became untenable. So I asked to shorten our stay, but the hotel did not want to hear anything. The only answer was that if we wanted to leave, it was our choice, without any solution or commercial gesture.
Another problem: there was no heating in the room when we arrived. We had to ask three times before the situation was resolved.
At over €350 per night, this level of service is totally unacceptable. Between the unsigned work, the lack of comfort and the total lack of consideration on the part of the establishment, the value for money is very far from the appointment.
We preferred to leave after the second night and lose 700€...
I totally recommend this hotel.

Excellent!
We stayed here for 2 nights on a larger tour of Norway and I can say it was definitely a highlight. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The room was comfortable with the most amazing views from the balcony. Small touches like water/chocolates added to the special feel of the hotel. We had breakfast and dinner included and wow what amazing food and again a really high level of service. I cannot fault this hotel and our stay was excellent.

Cute hotel with great views
It’s a 3 star hotel so the rating is relative to that. Beds were comfy, bathroom was adequate and the view was lovely from the balcony (even better without cruise ship).
Only complaint is that the room was really warm and not easy to cool down without opening everything (and some weird holes in the wall presumably for sockets).
WiFi was nice and casting to TV also worked well. We had a nice walk from the hotel to Brekkefossen, but for the rest there is not much in Flåm and eating opportunities are limited.

Comfortable and essential. Recommended for short stays.
Comfortable and clean, essential rooms with a small balcony useful for drying clothes, a stone's throw from a small beach and close to the departure point for the main excursions.
Breakfast served in a room near the hotel, very beautiful and bright. Food in abundance and of quality, both sweet and savory. Reception staff very kind and helpful.
Large room to leave luggage, not to be underestimated for cruise and train departures in the afternoon.
