Absolutely perfect
This is not just a nice hotel! We were greeted by the friendly hosts in the very nice garden and offered a cold drink on arrival before we were taken to our stunning room (art deco suite). Later we were offered a glass of champagne in the wine cellar which was an added bonus. Deborah and Gordon treated us like friends and took time to explain the history of this incredible place. The communal areas were more like a museum than a hotel, if you like art deco staying here is a must!
The bed was very comfortable and our room also featured an exceptionally equipped bathroom.
For breakfast we were offered a variety of options, everything freshly prepared and delicious.
You will not find a better place to stay anywhere in northern France! We will definitely go back to the Le Macassar.

A peaceful haven
This is an amazing place to stay. The owners are very friendly and welcoming.
The house is superbly decorated in an art deco style. As soon as you walk through the gateway entrance there is a feeling of tranquillity.
Although the house is located in the centre of the town, there is no noise or hustle and bustle from outside to intrude.
The rooms are some of the best I have stayed in whilst travelling around the Somme region. The owners very kindly cooked an evening meal for us. It was superb, as was the breakfast.
This is a place to return to.

The best hotel in the Somme region!
Simply the best stay possible. We had heard about this spot from family who recommended it. They sang its praises, and this place exceeded all expectations! We came here to explore the Somme area and see the Commonwealth and Imperial historical sites. This place was so well placed to see Monash, Beaumont Hamel (a must see), Vimy Ridge (the best military memorial we have ever seen!!), and others. The wonderful hosts Gord and Debbie recommend the Naours Cave, something definitely worth seeing!
The styling of the rooms was excellent, the lounge on the first floor was incredible feeling like an old world piece of art. The games room on the top floor will make you feel like you are in an elite club from the Art Deco era. The dining area was also excellent! Even better was the food prepared by Debbie and Gordon in it! The breakfast spread left nothing for want. Fresh pastries daily, fresh bread and fine cheese, fresh fruit, and some of the best eggs I have ever had. In addition they had salmon, bacon, and sausages. They also had a fridge offering refreshments available at all times where l had excellent local lemonade. The rooms were so well placed and put together, with excellent detailing. We were impressed with all of the fine details that we noticed throughout the hotel. The Wine Cave/Cellar was incredible! A must see for wine enthusiasts! Gordon and Debbie were so kind, and we didn't feel like we were in a hotel but with family. Thank you Gordon and Debbie for providing such a wonderful experience! Our only regret is that we had booked other hotels for the rest of our trip, we wish we could have stayed longer! We will be back soon to explore more of this fantastic French setting and further explore the incredible sites around.However, we would say the hosts and the hotel were the best part of our trip!

A beautiful art deco paradise steeped in history and generously shared
Deb and Gord made our family visit an absolute delight. The building is steeped in history and decorated in stunning art deco style and flair. They anticipated our every need and were so gracious with their kind and comfortable friendship.

Unforgettable Experience
Staying at le Macassar is like being in an Art Deco Museum with the comfort and charm of an elegant country home. When Deborah escorted me to my room I was stunned! I stayed in the Art Deco Suite which has a dazzling bathroom with a large art deco window and a luxurious bathtub as well as shower. The room also overlooks a lovely square with trees and has art objects and paintings. The whole house is a work of art, but it is more than matched by the kindness and warmth of the hosts, Deborah and Gordon. They gave me very helpful advice on specific areas of interest and local restaurants in addition to wonderful breakfasts. It was a joy to spend time with them. Thank you, Deborah and Gordon!
