Highly recommended - we will return every summer moving forward!

What a lovely property! We chose this due to the proximity to local sites and experiences with a private feel. We are so very glad we found Timber Baron Inn! We stayed three nights. It was very clean and incredibly comfortable. The view from the room was as beautiful as that from the quiet patio. We sat out and enjoyed the solitude without interruption or distraction. We would have paid the same for a chain hotel room but instead felt like we had a home to ourselves - what a wonderful value. We did not need to ask for anything, however I'm confident our needs would have been met if we did make a request. The light fare provided included fresh fruit, pastry, meat sticks, yogurt, cereal bars and oatmeal on a rotation with coffees, teas and cocoa also available. Plates, bows, silverware, coffee mugs, wine glasses, microwave and toaster oven were in the common area. Mini-fridge in the room. The individual heat/ac control in the room was a fabulous amenity as well.

False advertising

Great rooms, but the breakfast is not acceptable--granola bars and pop tarts. I would get a better breakfast at any hotel chain. Most people expect more from a b&b at this price. At least provide some fresh pastry or bread!

Beautiful Up North Getaway

We loved our stay at the Timber Baron Inn. The inn is beautiful and nestled away in the woods with a view of Lake Superior. Our room was comfortable, complete with a mini fridge and table and chairs overlooking the grounds. We enjoyed the light breakfast items and coffee each morning. Although we had some rain on this trip, it was relaxing to play a game of Scrabble with a glass of wine in the beautiful great room. Thank you for a wonderful stay in your home/inn.

Wonderful and relaxing

Really nice place - both the setting and the inn itself. Very clean, cozy, nicely furnished bedrooms and common room, log fire in the afternoons, etc.. Though they don't do a full breakfast anymore, hearty (and for us homemade) treats are provided to go with the coffee, tea, juice and hot chocolate that are always available. There were also oatmeal packets. (For us mostly not needed after the morning treats.) Common room has a kettle, keurig, microwave and toaster oven, plus plates, bowls cutlery, etc. All very convenient and made it easy to stay cozy inside by the fire after skiing.
Mount Ashwabay is very close with trails for cross country skiing fat tire biking, or - in the summer - hiking and mountain biking.
