oh i love this place, super clean always, the ownes nancy and fisher are famuky already after my second time staying there this year. amazing respectfully people and its 12 minutes in bus to vail, super convenient. aloha

I normally do not write reviews but I just wanted to let others know. I stayed at The Bunkhouse two years ago and I do not remember the experience being this bad. Overall it is what is to be expected for a hostel. Cool environment and friendly staff. However, this time the back bunk room was so hot and stuffy I could not get any sleep. There is only a tiny usb fan in the bunk and it looked like it had not been cleaned for years with so much dust build up. Which is probably why I developed a sinus infection while I was there. Also, the shower situation was pretty bad. There are three showers but only two had shower heads. The one shower I used had such poor water pressure it was barely worth taking a shower. I understand that the price and location are very good. But in this case you definitely get what you pay for.

The Bunkhouse is a great place to stay!

The Bunkhouse is a hidden gem in the valley. Directly in between Vail and Beaver Creek Resorts, it's convenient to everything that you're coming here to do. It's kept impeccably clean by the super friendly staff (I see you Piero, Ian, Riley, Lissa, Cam, and Diego!). You're probably going to make a new friend or two while you stay here, unless you're a curmudgeon, in which case the completely enclosed dorm style bunks will give you plenty of privacy. If you want to hang out in Minturn, you're walking distance from absolutely everything in town, and there are free buses that pick up almost directly out front that you can take to get to Vail or Avon (Beaver Creek). The owners are great people and around all the time to help you out in any way they can. I've stayed here many a night, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking to get the ski town feeling without all the pretense.
