A night to remember.
When we first arrived at the Idabel Inn in the lovely town of Idabel, OK it was a cold morning and we were worn out from a day of travel. It was refreshing to walk into the lobby of the Inn, elegant decor on the walls as well as a couple empty vending machines reassured that they have been very busy with guests. When showed to our room we were blown away by the size of the flat screen tv on the wall!!! Talk about luxury! Beds were beautifully made and we were surprised to see the splash of purple on the bathroom floor which brought great character to the room. Since it was 2am we did not spend much time lounging with guests in the lobby but went straight to bed. The next morning we were awaken by the sounds of happy quests waking up and ready to start there day, and we were right behind them. All in all we had an absolutely amazing time at the Idabel Inn, can’t wait for our next stay!!!

Don't go alone
Please be aware that this hotel is infested with ants I walked into my room and found a dead mouse in my uncovered electrical socket. The mail hotel manager likes to hit on the younger more attractive solo females when his wife is away. They will distort the truth well the lady female seems to only engage with the male customers. My room was small rarely got any service for room sanitation. I will give them points for being able to rekey the room key so quickly and we're being I will give them a $10 on customer service of that because that is my biggest obstacle is remembering that damn room key.

Clean comfortable room
We stayed here on Sat. nite Oct 2nd. We had fled (literally) from a nasty hotel in another county where we had had 2 nights reservation. We were pretty desperate for a room & everything in Broken Bow & Hochatown was booked, due to it being a weekend, the Bigfoot Festival, and a gun show in the area. Being nervous about the place as we didn’t find too many recent reviews we asked the owner/innkeeper if we could look at the room before we booked & she had no problem taking us to a room with shower only. She then asked if we wanted to look at a different room that had a bathtub but we told her that the huge shower was fine. We paid for our room & brought our bags in. There was a rolling luggage cart available if you needed it. The room was dated in décor but as CLEAN as any room I have ever seen. The sheets were crisp & clean & there were plenty of pillows. The bathroom was spotless and there were plenty of towels. This is a former Microtel now owned by the woman & her husband for the last couple of years. I think they do most of the housekeeping too as she mentioned having to go clean a couple of upstairs rooms when she finished with our paperwork. The room is very basic with a med-sized TV with limited channels but there were enough choices to satisfy my husband who likes to watch TV before he goes to bed. There are no chairs in the room to sit on, no phone, and just a clothes bar instead of a whole closet to hang clothes in. There is a long ‘desk/dresser/table’ attached to one wall, but no chair if you needed to sit at the desk part to write or use a laptop or anything. There were plenty of packets in the bathroom of individual shampoos, conditioner, lotion, and 4 or 5 soap bars if I remember right. She had taken the time to arrange the amenities to look attractive and there were more than we needed. The beds were firm but comfortable and the air conditioner worked GREAT and was responsive to us tapping in our desired temperature for sleeping – which is more than I can say of some hotels. The only down side is that they are not yet using the breakfast area and there wasn’t any breakfast of any kind offered. It was clean & decorated, but not used. THAT was not a big deal to me, and my husband is not normally a fan of hotel breakfasts anyway, but we would have loved to have been able to get a cup of coffee in the morning. I think that the owners should go to the local store and buy a cheap coffee maker, and offer to make coffee IF anyone wants it in the morning. The owner was sweet, down to earth and we enjoyed our overnight stay. It didn’t appear there were many other guests and the hotel was quiet. We got a good nights sleep and I wouldn’t have any problem staying here again or recommending it to someone. I dont know of the have or offer wifi as we didnt ask nor need any during our stay. The hotel is out on a loop that goes around the town. There is a huge gas station called Gasquatch 4.5 miles east on the loop that has gas, a real restaurant inside, a classic car collection to admire, snacks & food to go, and some souvenirs. I recommend stopping in there on your way in or out.

Burn and Learn
I had been traveling around Oklahoma for over 3 weeks and had stayed in over 2 dozen different motels; some corporate but mostly independent properties.
The price I paid, $108, for a night at the Idabel Inn was by far the highest and turned out to be a lousy value. Effectively, there was no internet. There was no breakfast. There wasn't even coffee. Free parking and color TV were the only amenities. As advertised the room was simple and small and clean. The air conditioner set to 60 cooled the room to maybe 72. The guy and his wife were nice.
When the other guest and I said the internet wasn't working the proprietor blamed it on the ISP saying the only thing available in that area was satellite service. Well that and the WalMart range extender didn't extend the range beyond 40 feet. He said we should use our cellular data. Verizon is my carrier and I only got 1-2 bars which is enough for talk but not data.
As I was packing the m-cycle to leave In the morning, I mentioned staying in OK motels for weeks and this is the only place that failed to provide something for breakfast or even coffee. He said the county health inspector prohibits them from offering...anything. He did offer to fetch a coffee maker so I could brew a cup in my room before leaving.
I was desperate to finish and e-mail a time-sensitive document and stopped by a nearby competitor. They graciously offered the use of their speedy internet and to fill my travel cups with coffee. I noticed they also offered breakfast. Now that's hospitality.

The Best Spot to stay in Idabel OK
Viewers listen here. This place is a wonderful place to stay. It’s American Owned. That’s a big plus. The owners and staff is so wonderful and sweet. I have been here each time I stayed in Idabel and its the only place I would recommend to stay in Idabel, OK. The service is great. The rooms are clean. I always have a warm welcome each time I’ve been. These people care about there guests. Go stay at this hotel you will be glad you did when you leave.
