Beautiful old hotel in a beautiful scenic area of Maine. Very close to Acadia National Park. Park Ranger told us it was haunted, but we had a peaceful, ghost-free experience. Kids took a morning swim in the well-maintained outdoor pool. Breakfast was just grab and go style. 10/10

It’s an older property. The floors, walls and beds are creaking.
Photos make it look like it’s surrounded by a lot of green space but it sits right off the highway with a golf course in the back.
Quite a bit of street noise.

The outside appearance was nice. The inside just blah. Desk clerk, who was watching tv, told me quickly where the room was- up two sets of stairs, but did not offer any assistance with my bags. I’m a retiree and lugging stuff up was not easy for me. Room was clean but poorly decorated. View was nice. The internet worked only occasionally. Annoying. The front desk staff was not welcoming and downright rude. Continental breakfast- blah. It was an expensive place to stay and I had expected much more.

Really Terrible Experience

My elderly mother stayed here so I am writing her review for her. She went here last minute when a flight was cancelled and arrived late. She is an elderly single woman was told to walk up 2 flights of stairs with all the luggage and no one offered to help her upon arrival (front desk person just watching TV instead)
The internet barely worked. Breakfast was a muffin wrapped in plastic.
Then there was a miscommunication on a taxi. My mom asked them to call another taxi because she couldn't get internet and was told "we won't do your dirty work for you".
The rooms were not that nice apparently, and this was pretty expensive for what it was.
She had a really terrible travel day, and somehow this was the worst part! I would strongly advise everyone to avoid this place until they change their attitude and price point!

Gorgeous views, strange hotel experience

The views are amazing, can’t fault them. But I found the experience slightly strange - there was a wedding booked when we were there and we were outside using one of the gazebos when a wedding party just rocked up and started getting ready for the ceremony. Nobody was rude but we clearly couldn’t stay which meant we couldn’t use the outside area. They also had use of the main public areas indoors. None of this was related to us when we stayed.
Room was okay, but could do with an update.
Note: we stayed June 2025 but TA only allows back to July.
