Gret stay in Fes
Easily accessible. Like being looked after very well in somebody's palatial home. Everyone was friendly andhelpful and the atmosphere was completely relaxed. Excellent meal on the day of arrival and good breakfasts on the other days. Loved being there and would gladly return. Thank you !

Really good!
We loved the location of the Riad and especially the beautiful terrace! Welcoming was perfect, the Welcoming Gentleman is the kindest in the hotel. The hotel is clean, the beds are comfortable and the Riad is simply beautiful. I give 4 stars, because 2 mornings the milk was curdled at breakfast and the last evening we had lunch at the Riad and 24 hours later we were all sick (6 people). We can’t be certain, but we doubt it was the salad. This is the only meal we all ate the same. A beautiful 36h of hell with the tourista... I really recommend this Riad, but I will pay attention to fresh food (salad, fruit)

Very good stay, visually impressive, street noise
Dar Seffarine is visually impressive and tastefully decorated (not gaudy). It met the high expectations set by photos seen here at TripAdivisor.
The staff were courteous and spoke English well and, upon arrival, kindly met me at the cab stop to help me find my way to the hotel. Other guests during my stay seemed courteous & considerate.
The riad is located beside R'cif Mosque, a little south and east of some of the main medina sites but a decent base for walking around the medina. It's a short (10 minute) walk to the R'Cif bus stop (former Bab R'Cif gate area), the point you'll be taken to if arriving by car, from which you can grab a petit taxi to points farther afield, and where there are several restaurants.
My room was one of the more modest (but still attractive) rooms on the lower floor on the east side of the building. Street noise was a bit of an issue in this room at night; even with the window closed, one could easily hear people talking (sometimes loudly and sometimes very late at night) as they walked along the alley beneath the window. Ear plugs helped. The lighting in the room (and the common areas of the riad, other than roof deck) was very subtle - not great if you wanted to read.
The breakfast room, a room beside the roof deck, and the communal breakfast table setting were very pleasant; but, during my stay, the variety of breakfast food was a little thin and unimaginative compared to other riads I stayed in; Other guests and I kept looking around to see if there was something else on the breakfast table we had missed.
Overall, a good stay in a memorable, tastefully restored/decorated riad with a decent medina location.

Oh the roof deck
Wonderful location in the Medina. Beautifully decorated with amazing architectural details. Super helpful and sweet staff. Views out on the old city from the roof deck evenings and mornings not to be missed. Great food. Interesting and comfortable rooms. A great base from which to experience Fez. We couldn't be happier with Dar Seffarine.

Dar Seffarine is a truly amazing place to stay if you are visiting Fez. A lovingly restored traditional home in the centre of the Medina Dar Seffarine is perfectly situated for exploring and visiting all the sites. As soon as you arrive the owners and staff make sure you feel as if you can treat this as your home for the duration of your stay. The communal breakfast on the rooftop means that you get to meet and interact with other guests, sharing travelling tips and experiences. We decided to eat at Dar Seffarine on our first evening and the food was so good we ate there twice more during our stay. All the staff are amazing and we are really grateful for them arranging a Medina tour, a driver for day trip to the main sites outside of Fez and airport transfers. Finally, the rooftop terrace is truly a special place with amazing views over the rooftops of the Medina. Thank you to all at Dar Seffarine for making our trip to Fez.
