Hidden gem in Progreso — amazing food, ocean views, and exceptional service

My husband and I visited Progreso for the very first time for a wedding, and some friends recommended Hotel Scappata. Honestly, everything was top notch: the food at the restaurant, the service, and the location.
We ended up eating at the restaurant every single day because it was that good. Breakfast was spectacular, and everything we tried was delicious. The lunch and dinner menus also had amazing options — the ceviche and aguachile were absolutely to die for.
Our room was super nice, great bed, clean, and had a beautiful ocean view. The pool was also great and just steps away from our room.
The cherry on top was the service. The hotel staff truly went above and beyond to help us with everything we needed. They even prepared lunch boxes for us on the days we had wedding commitments, which was such a thoughtful touch.
Hotel Scappata is truly a hidden gem in the Yucatán Peninsula. We would 100% come back and stay here again.

Excellent location, walking distance to beach. ADA accessibility can be an issue, no elevator to reach upper levels. Pool on second deck, so if you ask for first floor due to ADA getting to pool might be an issue. Food at location was average in taste and presentation. Price to value is below expectations.

Spectacular in every single way!!!

I don’t know where to begin … so I’ll begin at the beginning. It started with Enna at check in. She was fantastic. I’ve never been treated with such care and attention. She was just fantastic throughout my entire stay, not just on check-in!!
The rooms, the staff, the beach and pool, the restaurant and food and LOCATION all get a WOW from me!!
I wish I could have stayed longer!! I’ll be back!!

Place is well maintained a bit expensive for the area but overall good stay. Great views and great pool.
