The hotel was recommended in Lonely Planet, and it was as they described. The hotel itself is a bit run down, but the staff were very friendly, and I appreciated that they carried our bags up the three flights of stairs! We were on the top floor, and the room was large, quiet and clean. The attached restaurant is also very good.

Nothing very special
Basic hotel close to the center of Sur; the room was a bit small, the bathroom wasn't so good (the shower was pratically on the WC...) and the conditioner was noisy and pointing directly on our bed, thus causing cold and few comfort.
The hotel served an extremely basic breakfast, then we decided to have it elsewhere.
Building an elevator would be really helpful.

Real value for a low price
We spent one night in this hotel on our trip through Oman. For a low price (we paid around 55 euros with breakfast for two people) you get here a very simple but functional and clean accommodation. You cannot expect too much, however.
The house is very centrally located in the lively business district in downtown Sur. Conveniently, the stop of the intercity buses to Muscat is just around the corner, and the interesting local attractions such as the Maritime Museum, the Dhow Shipyard and the Corniche are within walking distance (at least in “winter” temperatures).
Extremely warm welcome by the really nice receptionist. Very kind that we as weary travelers were first handed water for refreshment.
We got a small room on the second floor with windows facing the street. The decor is kept very simple with a quite comfortable bed, an armchair, few storage facilities and powerful air conditioning, but is perfectly sufficient for one night. Some adventurous wet room with no separate shower in the middle of the room, so the bathroom is completely under water after showering. Very attentive that our luggage was brought to the room unsolicited.
Breakfast must be selected the night before. We ordered the “croissant breakfast” and the Arabic version and were very positively surprised in the morning. My wife received a tasty croissant with a large portion of scrambled eggs as well as a mixed salad, I got a delicious omelet along with humus, labneh, olives, cucumbers and tomatoes. They were accompanied by Arabic bread, jam and some cheese.

Budget hotel that confirms itself as budget
Very central and easy to reach, ample parking and a festive and ceremonious welcome. No lift but they help you with your luggage. Nearby, the souq, clubs, shops and restaurants. You can reach a little bit of everything. Spacious and old room, unwatchable carpet, and bathroom with shower that floods everything. Excellent helpfulness of the staff and normal budget hotel. Ok for a ride from Sur. I didn't try the breakfast.

Great place to stay
Great big room with a mini fridge and comfy bed. The best part was the man working reception when I came in the afternoon. Just the nicest and most welcoming guy! Breakfast was great too. There's free parking in the front of the hotel. If you don't have a car then there's restaurants nearby
