Hotel Romagna

Hotel Romagna is located in an enchanting position directly on the lake, opposite the Borromean Islands. Each room in the establishment provides free Wi-Fi and a private balcony. The rooms are also all furnished with good taste and displaying delicate colors, with all modern comforts for a relaxing stay. Some rooms offer lake views. The restaurant also offers a wonderful view directly over the lake. It is open by reservation only and offers a daily menu with characteristic products from the region and the Romagna Riviera. The closing day is subject to change, but the half-board service is always guaranteed, subject to 48-hour advance booking. In the surroundings of the hotel you can enjoy a beautiful golf course, tennis courts, water-skiing, fishing and trekking. Pleasant excursions by boat and hydrofoil are also available. Upon request, the shuttle from Lake Maggiore to Milan Malpensa Airport can stop in the hotel's parking and pick you up.

Relaxation with wonderful lake view

We stayed as a couple for a week in August and it was a beautiful holiday for many reasons:
Comfortable room on the first floor with a large bathroom and a mini fridge (but capacious); but above all... living terrace with chairs and table, with direct lake view and wonderful! It seemed to be on the water and in front were the Borromean Islands, in particular, the fishermen’s ql!
They welcomed our dog with so much kindness, allowing her to follow us everywhere, in the garden equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas and especially in the restaurant! Top kitchen! First and second courses based on specialties from Romagna, Piedmont or traditional prepared very well! Hotel management staff, reception and restaurant very welcoming, professional and always available! what about? Highly recommended!

Hotel for short stays.

Negative -No room for long stay, especially with bad weather. Not comfortable 1 chair, small desk, small fridge on the floor. Low toilet. Poor breakfast.
Positive- Superb views. Every day clean linen, and cleaned room. Very nice staff. Ample parking space at hotel.

Very nice Family Pension.
The staff is charming and the restaurant's cuisine excellent with a very nice lake view.
The decoration of the rooms is a bit dated but the view of the lake from the balcony is extraordinary and the show on the Boromeo Islands is permanent!
A regret that there is no real beach but access to the lake by a swimming ladder.

We would choose another hotel next time

A slightly old family-owned hotel. From the price / performance ratio, the Hotel Romagna during our tour along the upper Italian lakes was the only one that did not convince us.
Located on a busy road outside Baveno right on Lake Maggiore. To get to the place, you should put the car on. Unless you don't mind walking in a goose march on the side of the busy road without a footpath (about 15 minutes) while the trucks rush past you. Parking is available directly at the hotel. There is plenty of paid parking in Baveno.
We had a room with balcony to the lake. Nevertheless, the street noise was also clearly audible at night. It was only surpassed by the extremely noisy air conditioning in the room. From the balcony you have a beautiful view of the Borromeo Islands. The decor of the room is quite simple and looks a bit worn out. The bathroom has the smallest shower we've ever seen. There are no sanitary bags, no Kleenex, just an open trash bin in the bathroom. We disposed of an almost empty, used roll of toilet paper first. The service was very friendly and prudent from arrival to departure. After asking for a second sheet as a blanket, I went to the laundry warehouse together with the employee to choose the right one.
Breakfast was the same on all three days and very clear: Salami, boiled ham, a type of cheese, some pastries, bread and canned fruit.
We ate at the hotel once in the evening and were pleasantly surprised. An interesting selection of dishes with fair prices. Especially the vegetable flan with toma-kase fondue as a starter was great.
There are a few sun loungers on the lake, but without a beach. The lake is accessed by a ladder. From Baveno, either larger excursion ships or small motorboat shuttles sail to the islands. We recommend the Isola dei Pescatori, the only permanently inhabited island with small alleys, restaurants and gift shops.

Not to be missed

Highly recommended. Excellent restaurant (both for the dishes served and for the beautiful lake view towards the Borromean Islands). The rooms are comfortable and spacious, clean, equipped with air conditioning and, in our case, a balcony overlooking the lake. Interesting garden equipped lakeside. Reserved parking next to the hotel. Professional and very kind staff. Not to be missed!
